Personal Information: Tim has been married to his wife Jan for 32 years. They have two sons who reside in Atlanta. Tim enjoys studying scripture, reading, fly-fishing, barbequing, and cooking.
Finance Career Details: Tim has financial expertise in options trading, managed futures, and private equity investments. As Managing Member of Genesis Research & Asset Management, LLC, Tim was Director of Portfolio and Risk Management for Genesis Multi Manager Futures Fund, LLC. The fund won the 2012 World Finance award as the Best Managed Futures CTA Fund of Hedge Funds North America. Prior to Genesis, Tim was Chief Investment Officer for an investment division of a regional bank where he evaluated products for qualified investors. Tim began his finance career as a technical analyst and options trader. He traded currencies, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 Index options. Tim rose to Partner and Managing Member of Futrex, LLC, a futures and options trading firm with operations at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, and LIFFE in London. Tim was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and later, the Chicago Board Options Exchange. At Futrex, Tim had oversight of trading strategy and operations development, information technology, trader development and education, and firm risk management.
Ministry Work Details: Following his trading career, Tim pursued a ministry education at the University of Chicago Divinity School. During three years of full-time study, he focused on Scripture and ethics. He earned his Master of Divinity in 2006. Through his extensive examination of Scripture and its revelation of Jesus Christ, Tim formed a deeper love of Christ. His study of Christian ethics examined how people and communities treat others and direct their lives through challenges and moral conflicts as followers of Christ.
As a licensed minister, Tim served as Pastor of Worship and Care for the Vespers Community at Christ Church of Oak Brook, in suburban Chicago. He received a Clinical Pastoral Education unit as Chaplain at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Currently, Tim teaches a Sunday morning class at McDowell Mountain Community Church. Beginning in fall 2018, Tim will lead the class through a nine-month study of Romans.
