A Christian Peer Board

There are many references in Scripture to the importance of sound, Biblical counsel. Consider these two insights from Proverbs:

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Pr. 27:17

"For waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers." Pr. 24:6

The C12 model is fundamentally about transparency and accountability among a group of like-minded Christian professionals, committing together to lifelong learning to improve their businesses for the advancement of the Kingdom through the marketplace. What a worthwhile pursuit!

Accountability and Encouragement to Live an Integrated Life
Month after month, year after year, C12 members engage each other in lively conversation about issues that matter - issues that affect the lives of their families, employees, vendor, strategic partners, customers and associates. The benefits of establishing strong relationships with other Christian business owners and CEOs is invaluable, going beyond the balance sheets by challenging each other to live integrated lives both at home or the office. Speaking the truth in love, your peer board is all about accountability coupled with encouragement.

Learning from Your Peers
None of us have the exact same life experiences. God has given each of us a specific set of gifts, circumstances and opportunities. The collective of these experiences can provide excellent insight for other C12 members who may be walking similar paths to yours. Likewise, you will benefit from their experiences.

Think of the tremendous value you will receive from avoiding mistakes, being proactive and engaging better systems thanks to the input of your C12 peer board. Just one good idea could save or generate significant dollars. And, in some cases, frank feedback can help refocus you on what matters most at home and in your market.

The Core Business Presentation
One of the great opportunities for peer feedback comes with the annual Core Business Presentation, an extended session during which one C12 member presents his/her business in detail. This structured forum is designed to "go deep" into the key drivers of your business as you open your numbers, operations, strategic issues, HR issues, and personal challenges to the group. It's a circumspect look at what's working in your firm, what isn't and what ought to be.

Sound a bit unnerving? Don't be alarmed. This is one of the key benefits of the C12 experience. There is newfound freedom and insight in this honest, open forum as you share your objectives and struggles with like-minded Christian business leaders. The feedback is invaluable. A Safe, Trustworthy, and Confidential Environment
Only one member per profession is permitted to join a specific C12 Group. There will be, for example, only one printer per group, or one insurance firm per group. With no concern of competition within the group, members feel at ease discussing sensitive commercial issues. Furthermore, all members agree to hold in confidence the information shared in the C12 meetings.

“Old men must be explorers; here and there does not matter; we must be still and still moving; into another intensity; for a further union, a deeper communion.” - T. S. Eliot
